Dyakia hendersoniana
Dyakia hendersoniana, it a miniature-sized warm loving orchid which originates from the island of Borneo in South East Asia. This orchid wasn’t seen much in cultivation until a couple of years ago when it appeared on sale everywhere. We obtained this orchid as a seedling in December last year and we are fortunate to experience its first blooms this year.
A) Two flower stems on July 7th. |
B) It took at least five months before these flower stems were fully developed. |
C) Fourteen flowers in bloom by July 28. |
D) Out in the sun, July 30th. |
E) All flowers in full bloom by August 3rd this year. |
We will have to wait until next year for another batch of flowers because all of the blooms have wilted away today.
Until my next post, have a great week everyone.
