Orchid of the day: Leptotes pohlitinocoi

Leptotes pohlitinocoi

In the past, our Leptotes pohlitinocoi, a Brazilian native, has been flowering in late March and early April, see my post in 2016 and 2018.  The flowers are rather fragile and not very long lasting.

Recently Arne had this orchid on loan at the Maryland Orchid Society Exhibition at Timonium Fairground, March 8th to 10th, 2019. Happily it received second prize under the Cattleya Alliance-Other category.

A) At Timonium fairground on March 8th.

B) Our orchid with flower buds in early February.

C) Flowers blooming in February 16th. At this time we anticipated a total of fourteen flowers.

D) A close up.

E) Our Leptotes pohlitinocoi  is doing well on the cork slab.

I hope you liked the photos of our Leptotes pohlitinocoi

Until my next post, a great week.
